The Manhasset Public Library plays host to many local community organizations’ meetings and programs. Here are are a few groups that might be of interest to you:
Manhasset CASA has been in existence since 2001 and works with numerous community partners to reduce substance abuse among youth by connecting parents, school, youth and the community as partners in this common goal. CASA engages its members to view substance abuse as an issue of public health and utilizes specific strategies that address why and where substance use is prevalent in the Manhasset community and how to change the environment whereby it exists. The Manhasset Public Library and the Honorable Jack M. Martins sponsor Manhasset CASA’s Active Parenting Series (fall) and Power of Parenting Series (winter/spring) which provides parents and caregivers with the skills, insight and knowledge they need to raise healthy and responsible youth in today’s world.
