The Friends of the Manhasset Public Library is a not-for–profit organization whose mission is to support our library as a hub of lifelong learning through fundraising, programming and volunteering. The Friends provides the library with needed materials, equipment and programs that are not included in the operating budget.
Since 1974 (over 45 years!) the funds raised by The Friends have made significant contributions to library programs and services.

- Picture Moldings throughout the library to display artwork by local artists and student artists
- Children’s Room Materials
- Marie Kondo’s “The Art of Tidying Up” program
- The Physics Bus and Camp Stem for children

- Little Red Lending Library at the Manhasset Train Station

The Friends of the Library is excited to offer members of the Manhasset community an opportunity to honor a family member or loved one, or to celebrate their love of our library, by having their name or their family’s names memorialized on the Family Giving Tree.
The Giving Tree is the centerpiece of a bucolic nature scene located outside the Children’s Room on the third floor. The mural is teeming with birds, flowers, butterflies, insects and all manner of woodland creatures. Every single one of them is waiting to have a name inscribed on it. Think of how excited future generations will be to see familiar names on the scene! It is truly a unique connection to our library.
All funds from The Giving Tree will be used to support The Friends mission of supporting our library as a hub of lifelong learning by providing needed materials, equipment and programs that are not included in the library’s operating budget.
