Bold vibrant colors combined with a strong geometric sensibility dominate much of Charlotte Sear’s work.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Over the years, Ms. Sear has developed a unique flat-perspective style. \u00a0Acrylic is her primary medium. \u00a0Much of her work incorporates hard-edged acrylics in a flat semi-naturalistic style. \u00a0She uses a bright palette and, in some cases, an almost cubist viewpoint to portray people and places of significance to her. \u00a0In her work she translates momentary encounters with life into an invented narrative visual world. \u00a0her rich and exciting use of color and form enhance the mood and emotional content of her paintings.<\/p>\n
One of her continuing sources of \u00a0inspiration has been the images of Columbia County and by abstracting key elements of the landscape and the culture she provides a simple but profound view of rural life. \u00a0She has had solo and group exhibitions in Manhattan, on Long Island and in the Berkshires and has won a number of awards for her paintings. \u00a0Charlotte Sear has studied at The Art Students League and privately with Dee Shapiro.<\/p>\n
