We all can\u2019t wait until we\u2019re back at work and able to communicate directly with patrons. In the meantime, here are some of the things we\u2019ve been doing this week:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Books &#8211; Favorites Old and New<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=origin\">Origin<\/a><\/em> by Dan Brown \u2013 This is the fifth novel featuring Robert Langdon. A thriller to the end! Larry L.- Reference (<a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=origin\">Available on Libby\/Overdrive in audio and e-book<\/a>)<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=Ask%20Again%2C%20Yes\">Ask Again, Yes<\/a><\/em> by Mary Beth Keane \u2013 A riveting story about two families whose lives become forever intertwined following an unspeakable tragedy. Cheryl K.- Reference (<a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=Ask%20Again%2C%20Yes\">Available on Libby\/Overdrive in audio and e-book<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=I%20Know%20Who%20You%20Are\">I Know Who You Are<\/a><\/em> by Alice Feeney \u2013 When actress Aimee Sinclair comes home to find her husband has disappeared; she is the number one suspect. This is a dark novel with an edge to it. Kristin G.- Circulation (<a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=I%20Know%20Who%20You%20Are\">Available on Libby\/Overdrive in audio and e-book<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=In%20Five%20Years\">In Five Years<\/a> <\/em>by Rebecca Serle \u2013 A romantic novel that makes you think. Good for fans of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=me+before+you\">Me Before You<\/a><\/em>. Stephanie C.-Circulation (<a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=In%20Five%20Years\">Available on Libby\/Overdrive<\/a>. Also check \u201cSkip the Line\u201d)<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=Maybe%20You%20Should%20Talk%20to%20Someone\">Maybe You Should Talk to Someone<\/a><\/em> by Lori Gottlieb \u2013 A therapist details her own personal crisis and experiences in therapy. Equal parts honest, vulnerable and fun. Amanda G.- Circulation (<a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=Maybe%20You%20Should%20Talk%20to%20Someone\">Available on Libby\/Overdrive<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Book and a Movie \u2013 Libby and hoopla Together<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are some wonderful movies available on hoopla. One of my favorite things to do is to read the book\/watch the movie (and vice versa) and compare. Here are some favorites available on Libby and hoopla:<\/p>\n<p><em>Like Water For Chocolate<\/em> by Laura Esquivel \u2013 A magical book, very different from the average story. The movie is also wonderful (in Spanish with subtitles). If you are looking for something different, this is a great read\/watch. <a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=Like%20Water%20for%20Chocolate\">Find on Libby<\/a> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopladigital.com\/search?kindId=7&amp;page=1&amp;q=Like+Water+For+Chocolate&amp;scope=everything\">Find on hoopla<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>The English Patient<\/em> by Michael Ondaatje \u2013 A romance, a mystery and a travelogue\u2026who is the man covered in bandages? The movie is just as wonderful, with Kristen Scott Thomas and Ralph Fiennes.\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=The%20English%20Patient\">Find on Libby<\/a> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopladigital.com\/title\/12183265\">Find on hoopla<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>A Man Called Ove<\/em> by Fredrik Backman \u2013 A funny book that has a happy ending \u2013 what more could we want now? Ove is a cranky Swede who doesn\u2019t like his new neighbors. The movie is heartwarming (in Swedish with subtitles). . <a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=a+man+called+ove\">Find on Libby<\/a> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopladigital.com\/title\/12255220\">Find on hoopla<\/a><\/p>\n<p>My favorites tend to be romances \u2013 what is your favorite book that was turned into a movie? Stephanie C., Circulation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Watching and Listening<\/strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p><em>Boardwalk Empire<\/em> (HBO or Amazon) &#8211; Set in 1920s Atlantic City during Prohibition. Intense! Jazmin M., Reference.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Sopranos<\/em> (HBO or Amazon) &#8211; A classic. If you didn\u2019t see it when it aired, now is a good time to watch it. Christine K., Circulation<\/p>\n<p><em>Homeland<\/em> (SHO or Amazon) &#8211; CIA agent Carrie Matheson is the only one who can save the world from terrorism. The last season has two more episodes, so this is a great time to binge and catch up! Linda P., Administration<\/p>\n<p><em>30 Rock<\/em> (Amazon) &#8211; Based loosely on backstage shenanigans at Saturday Night Live. We all need some comic relief now! Jazmin M., Reference<\/p>\n<p><em>Uncut Gems<\/em> (On Demand) \u2013 A jeweler makes a high-stakes bet that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime. Starring Adam Sandler in a very different role. Nancy M., Circulation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Podcasts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Sawbones<\/em> \u2013 A humorous look at medical history, hosted by a physician and her funny husband. Mary H., Children\u2019s<\/p>\n<p><em>American Innovations<\/em> \u2013 The stories behind the greatest discoveries of the past. Well told and very informative. Linda G., Circulation<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbdigital.com\/manhassetny\/service\/magazines\/landing\">RB Digital<\/a><\/em> on the Manhasset Library\u2019s website is packed with so many of my favorite magazines. There are interesting articles on Earth Day in <em>National Geographic<\/em> and several great gardening tips in <em>The English Garden<\/em> and <em>Garden Gate<\/em>.
