It was tough to watch at times, but gripping and a grim warning of how quickly things can change when extremism takes hold. Both he original Margaret Atwood novel and sequel, <strong><em>The Testaments<\/em><\/strong> are <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=The%20Handmaid%27s%20Tale\">Available on Libby<\/a> -Mary H., Children\u2019s <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I recently watched the documentary <strong><em>Who is Arthur Chu?<\/em><\/strong>, which is available on <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kanopy.com\/product\/who-arthur-chu\">Kanopy<\/a>.<\/em><\/strong> Arthur Chu is an eleven-time Jeopardy champion and one of the most hated players of the game. A very relevant documentary considering all the turmoil we as a nation are experiencing because of racism. &#8211;<strong><em>Elaine N., Circulation<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My most recent read has been <strong><em>The Good Earth<\/em><\/strong> by Pearl S. Buck. This classic depicts life in a Chinese village in the early part of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century. A moving tale of the hardships of poverty and survival. Beautifully written<strong><em>. <a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=The%20Good%20Earth\">Available on Libby &#8211;<\/a><\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Linda G., Circulation<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was lucky to get the newest Michael Connelly thriller, <strong><em>Fair Warning<\/em><\/strong>. As usual, it was a good, fast read that kept me interested. However, it is not a Harry Bosch novel, so it was a bit disappointing. Still, it\u2019s highly recommended if you\u2019re a fan. <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=Fair%20Warning\">Available on Libby<\/a> -Stephanie C., Circulation<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I love watching <strong><em>Rosemary and Thyme<\/em><\/strong> on <strong><em>Amazon Prime<\/em><\/strong>. It takes me away from the present dilemmas and I get to visit beautiful gardens with my favorite sleuths. <strong><em>Alice P., Children\u2019s<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recently, I\u2019ve been watching <strong><em>Good Witch<\/em><\/strong> on <strong><em>Netflix<\/em><\/strong>. It\u2019s small-town sweet, light, corny and romantic, with just a hint of magical powers. The perfect antidote after digesting the daily news on TV! &#8211;<strong><em>Nancy M., Circulation<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been watching <strong><em>The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel <\/em><\/strong>on <strong><em>Amazon Prime<\/em><\/strong>. It is the funniest show I have seen. Marvelous \u2013 highly recommend! &#8211;<strong><em>Larry L., Reference<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>And finally, some new books to put on hold:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Vanishing Half<\/em><\/strong> by Brit Bennett \u2013 Identical twin sisters are born into a small Southern community in the 1960\u2019s. They decide to run away from home and carve out new lives in New Orleans. But as they turn down separate paths, one returns home and one conjures a life of secrecy as a black woman passing for white. A tale of family, identity, race, history, and perception. <strong><em>Cheryl K., Reference <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/media\/4948153\">Available on Libby<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes<\/em><\/strong> by Suzanne Collins \u2013 The prequel to <strong><em>The Hunger Games <\/em><\/strong>series. <strong><em>Larry L. and Sharon R., Reference\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=The%20Ballad%20of%20Songbirds%20and%20Snakes\">Available on Libby<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Sex and Vanity<\/em><\/strong> by Kevin Kwan \u2013 The latest from the <strong><em>Crazy Rich Asians<\/em><\/strong> author, based on <strong><em>A Room with a View. Sharon R., Reference<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=Sex%20and%20Vanity\">Available on Libby<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Home Before Dark<\/em><\/strong> by Riley Sager \u2013 After a twenty year absence, a woman returns to her childhood home which was believed to be haunted. Was it really haunted, as her father had claimed? <strong><em>Kristin G., Circulation\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/nassau.overdrive.com\/search?query=Home%20Before%20Dark\">Available on Libby<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The End of Everything: (Astrophysically Speaking)<\/em><\/strong> by Katie Mack \u2013 An eye opening look at five ways the universe could end, and the mind-blowing lessons each scenario reveals about the most important concepts in cosmology. <strong><em>Larry L., Reference Coming Soon!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Bell in the Lake<\/em><\/strong> by Lars Mytting \u2013 From Norway, this is the first book in a planned trilogy.
