Maxine Townsend-Broderick is a multimedia artist who was born in Jamaica, New York to a Jamaican mother and a Grenadian father.

She studied commercial art and Photography at New York City Technical College.  After working as an artist in a major New York advertising agency and raising four beautiful children, Maxine entered the professional photography field.

After seeing all four of her children graduate from college, Maxine returned to school and received a B.A. degree from the College of New Rochelle and her Masters from Cambridge College.  She closed her studio(Maxine’s Classic Photography) to become an art and photography teacher in the NYC Department of Education.   She is now retired.

Maxine has always been opening to learning and experimenting with new and different art techniques.  It is not uncommon to see her using more than one art technique in a work of her art.  Some of the medias she works in are photography (both digital and film), ceramics, printmaking, etching, mixed media painting, website design, and quilting.  Maxine has exhibited her work across Long Island, New York City and the Caribbean.
