The purpose of the League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset shall be to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government and to act on selected governmental issues.  Strictly nonpartisan, it never supports or opposes any political party or candidate.

Every step of the way, through every challenge, the LIAD Center continues to lead the way on the front line of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.  The LIAD Center has adjusted their critical hands-on programming to provide their families necessary relief and comfort during this challenging time.  Diagnosed individuals and caregivers need help now and a community to return to after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manhasset CASA has been in existence since 2001 and works with numerous community partners to reduce substance abuse among youth by connecting parents, school, youth and the community as partners in this common goal.
CASA engages its members to view substance abuse as an issue of public health and utilizes specific strategies that address why and where substance use is prevalent in the Manhasset community and how to change the environment whereby it exists.

Our mission is to enhance the economic vitality and quality of life of our Community.  To promote the general welfare and prosperity of its member businesses.  Be a proactive business advocate for public policy and economic development through professionalism and adherence to reasonable standards of conduct.

New to Manhasset? Welcome to the neighborhood! The Manhasset Plandome Newcomers Club is a social club for Manhasset residents that organizes events throughout the year to introduce new residents to the town and provide opportunities for members to socialize and build friendships. Established residents who enjoy meeting new people are also invited to be a part of the club! We host a number of events for ladies, men and couples to appeal to a range of interests. Free Cancer Screenings

Cancer Services Program of Nassau County provides breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screenings at no cost to men and women who do not have health insurance, and people whose health insurance doesn’t cover the cost of these screenings, regardless of immigration status.

North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center

As the preeminent not-for-profit children’s mental health agency on Long Island, North
Shore Child & Family Guidance Center is dedicated to restoring and strengthening the
emotional well-being of children (from birth – age 24) and their families. Our highly
trained staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, vocational rehabilitation
counselors and other mental health professionals lead the way in diagnosis, treatment,
prevention, training, parent education, research and advocacy. The Guidance Center
helps children and families address issues such as depression and anxiety;
developmental delays; bullying; teen pregnancy; sexual abuse; teen drug and alcohol
abuse; and family crises stemming from illness, death, trauma and divorce.

The Guidance Center is responding to the Coronavirus crisis through seamlessly transitioning to remote video conferencing to see both new and existing clients. The need for our services is more critical than ever before, as current clients are experiencing highly exacerbated symptoms, including an increase in depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, substance use, self-harm and other mental health challenges.
