100 Books Before Graduation

What is this and why should I do it?

100 Books Before Graduation is a reading initiative that challenges teens to read 100 books before they graduate from high school. Plus, you’ll get prizes along the way, a gift card for completing the challenge, and bragging rights for finishing!

Who can participate and how do I sign up?

This program is for teens in grades 7-12. You can register online using the Beanstack app or website, or use the QR code on the front of this brochure! If you have a Beanstack account from Summer Reading, you can use the same login.

What are the prizes?

After you register, visit the Teen Zone to pick up your first prize: a reading journal, bookmark, and pen! For every 20 books, you will earn a prize that also comes with your choice of an enamel pin or jibbitz, and free book of your choice!

Prizes:

  • 20 Books: Tote Bag
  • 40 Books: Journal
  • 60 Books: Pencil Case & Stickers
  • 80 Books: Reusable Cup
  • 100 Books: Gift Card

What do I need to read?

What you read is 100% up to you! You can try something new, or read your favorite genre, but remember to have fun! If you’re looking for inspiration, visit the library and ask us for suggestions!

How do I log my books?

Books will be logged using the Beanstack website or app. You will create an account through Beanstack (just like you do for the Summer Reading Program). You must record the title and author of each book read to receive credit.

Do audiobooks count? What about graphic novels and manga?

Yes, they count! Listening to an audiobook counts as having read that book. Graphic novels and manga count too!

Can I add the books I need to read for school?

Yes! You can log books that you read in class, for independent reading projects, and for summer assignments!
