From the Ground Up
“I came to live on Long Island only five years ago- from almost 15 years in Massachusetts followed by almost 10 years in Florida.
I was so thrilled to return to the north again- with four seasons! The painting in this show reflects that delight. Long Island has the beautiful long beaches of the sough shore and the steep rugged bluffs of the north shore- the presence of the sea makes the weather more moderate than regions further north but still, it has the daylight swing of the seasons that I love so much. the changing light in the woods is a constant delight to me as the seasons change.”

Painting: Where the Valley Begins– “In the winter, the shadows of the trees let you see every contour of the land as you gaze into the forest of Caumsett State Park in Lloyd’s Neck. this view can be seen as you walk the paved 3 mile trail in the park. These turkeys look wonderfully majestic as they walk unafraid and unhurried.”
