Barbara Vinitz

0

Barbara is a novice artist.

She retired from teaching pre-k to 6th grade students after 35 years- 25 of which she was employed by the New York City Board of Education.  She often tried to include art in whatever lessons she taught, be it reading , math, science, or social studies.  It was a way of making lessons fun.

Interior design is important to her.  She has spent much time decorating her apartment to suit her taste and create a cozy environment that she calls home.

Barbara started creating mono prints and collages in October of 2011 as a student of Stephanie Navon Jacobson.  She uses objects of texture found in nature, discarded items, and recently ribbons of all shapes and sizes.

Ms. Vinitz is a member of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Connecticut.  She exhibited a monotype print, “The River Below” in their yearly Panorama show in May, 2012.  She exhibited a mono print and a multimedia print at the Bayside Historical Art Show in January, 2013.  Two of her prints were shown at the Manhasset Public Library show  “America the Beautiful” from June to August 2013.

Barbara looks for inspiration in museums and art galleries, in photos and even in her neighborhood to create her prints.
