Where to Donate Used Books
- Better World Books: Share your books with Better World Books as donations. The Manhasset Library has a bright green collection bin at the Northeast corner of the parking lot. Every book donated helps fund world literacy.

- Vietnam Veterans of America: The VVA is a critical support service for our veterans. Your used books make a big difference in the lives of America’s Veterans and their families. (Please no encyclopedias or reference books.)
- Prisons-NYC Books Through Bars: NYC Books Through Bars is an all-volunteer-run group that sends free, donated books to incarcerated people across the nation. They mail book packages to individuals rather than prison libraries.
- The Salvation Army: Adult rehabilitation facilitates benefit from your book donations.
- Goodwill NY NJ: Donated books are sold in Goodwill stores to help support programs that empower individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment to gain independence through the power of work. (718) 777 6320
- Operation Paperback: Distributes to overseas troops, veterans, and their families.
- Lupus Foundation of America: Call 888-445-8787 to arrange for a pickup. Gifts received help advance research for individuals with Lupus.
- Book Fairies: Book Fairies is a nonprofit organization based in Freeport that collects reading materials for people in need in the New York metro area.
