“Prelude to Bathhouse”
Dr. Roslyn Marcus was born and raised in New York. She attended Temple University, Tyler School of Fine Arts, as well as Pratt Institute where she studied fashion and textile design.
She has always experimented in the arts. Roz developed an interest in photography about 12 years ago. Her work started to focus on integrating photography, decoupage and painting. Her skills are expressed in contemporary combinations of fantasies. She demonstrates a wide range of emotional freshness combined with the familiar and the mundane. Her creative process is both thought provoking and whimsical. She sees her artistic renderings as repressed yearnings and desires of the subconsious mind.
She has shown at the Huntington Library Annex, B.J. Spoke Gallery, Northport Tasting Room, Huntington Library Main Street, Studio East Gallery, Ripe Gallery, Clovis Point Winery, Old Town Arts Guild, Yankee Peddler, and Portafino. She is currently showing at Gallery Marcas, Maldurzas, Mexico; Patti Gallorda Home Decorating Shop, Mexico; and Galleria Vallarta, Mexico.
Dr. Marcus has a Masters Degree in Social Work and a Doctorate in Psychology. She is in private practice for the past 33 years in Roslyn, NY.
