Marcia Galletti was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York.

She received a BS from the University of the State of New York at Oswego and a MS from Brooklyn College. Her career path took her from the classroom to the Postal Service, where she was Union President and Union Organizer and on a National level represented woman in Northeastern United States.  As a Labor Relations Representative she did arbitration for the USPS and was Acting Postmaster of the Williston Park Post Office.

She has been a resident of Long Island since 1966 along with her husband, daughter and son. She is the proud grandmother of four children and six granddogs.

Although artistic and creative, her career paths took her far from the ‘hands on’ art community. Retirement brought her to Westbury Gardens. She was fortunate enough to meet Rose Pellicano,  renowned botanical watercolor instructor, thus ; her introduction to painting. She has exhibited her paintings at Old Westbury Gardens, the Community Club of Garden City, the Garden City,  Manhasset, Jericho, Shelter Rock and Cold Spring Harbor Libraries. She was a ribbon recipient at a Senior Juried Art Exhibit in Reading, PA and received honorable mentions at the Smithtown Arts Council competitive exhibit of Native Blooms. She is a partisipating member of ” Flora” a group of botanical artists, At present she sells both originals and glicee’s of her paintings. Thrilled with the results of her endeavors, she looks forward to participation in Flora and the camaraderie of those in the class that share her enthusiasm.
