This is a multi media group exhibition by 30 artists using varying mediums.
The theme “Favorites” allowed the artists to pick two of their favorite pieces and write an explanation of why this is their favorite.
The pieces vary from a 60 year old favorite painting to photographs taken while travelling, but all of them hold the viewers interest.
Young artists can share their
drawings on Rob’s Twitter,

Local Author Materials
The library may acquire self-published books when they feature unique local content, fit
the scope of the Library’s collection and meet our selection criteria. Standards that apply
to our collection selection and maintenance apply to the Local Author materials.
● Authors must reside in Nassau County or the book must take place in Manhasset, or
otherwise demonstrate a strong local interest.
● Authors must submit a copy of their book for review by library staff along with the
Local Author Submission Form. The review copy will be returned upon request.
● A positive review in one or more of the major review journals (such as Library
Journal, School Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews, Booklist and Publishers Weekly) is
the best way to bring a title to our attention. We are more likely to consider the
addition of a self-published book if it has been reviewed in a major review journal.
● Please include a link to the book’s website and links to reviews or other coverage in
the news media (if available).
● The author must represent and warrant full ownership and/or legal rights to publish
all material in their book.
● Local authors offering a book for inclusion in our Local Author collection must
understand that the book is property of the Manhasset Public Library and subject to
the Collection Maintenance guidelines applied to other library materials.
